Capturing a new life, a brand new individual, a face that was kept a secret for nine months is about the most precious subject any portrait photographer can wish for. I always look forward to my next opportunity to meet the owner of the cutest little hands and feet, the funniest yet sweetest expressions.

There is a lot of planning and time that goes into a baby’s first portrait session. From fitting the session in between two feedings to keeping the tiny body warm and comfortable, it’s not an easy task, but in the end definitely very rewarding.

Newborn portraits can be scheduled a week or two after the baby’s birth, or as soon as the belly button falls off, or as soon as the mommy feels good enough to participate. For a session like this we welcome our new families at our state of the art studio, but our experience is that more soothing and comfortable circumstances can be provided at a home environment.

The style of our photography can vary when capturing your newborn baby. As with the maternity portraits, we can keep things more traditional, or get really creative. A lot of people enjoy seeing photographic memories of their babies without any clothing, but this is optional.
