For Father’s Day…
May they all be blessed and appreciated always with the utmost gratitude for their special role in a child’s life. The kind of role that is monumentally life changing for all of us.
To me especially. Even if I only got 18 years of it…
Those first 18 years of my life are deeply embedded in my core and strongly define the person I am.
For a long time now, I’ve only had the memories… Of being my Dad’s right hand in everything he did. Cooking, fixing the car, doing woodwork, mixing cement, gardening. Everything he did, I did with him. That was my role. To make him happy and proud of me.
The things I did with my father, the things he taught me with discipline, wisdom and love always, shaped me into the good human being I try to be.
Those of you out there with fathers to embrace, to talk to, to express gratitude towards, don’t hold back! Let them know how very important they are and not just on Father’s Day!
